Punisher doodles

Tried to post this in January when I first did it but wordpress was giving me some technical issues, and this image in particular it seems to despise, so hopefully this works. Digital sketching/inking with Sketchbook Pro and zip in Photoshop.

Paint sketch

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Recently been breaking out the old acrylics.  I hated painting. In my mind it meant way too much forethought than I was willing to put in to get the kind of results I’m accustomed to with my digital art. So in an effort to give myself a more relaxing artistic outlet, I thought I’d just abandon what I “know” about painting and just go. So far it’s been a lot of fun.

But mostly, it gives me something to do when my girlfriend is painting… hahaha

03 micron and Pentel pocket brush pen in a moleskin sketchbook while I was backpacking. Lots of fun and I really like the results.

Killing some time

20sgirl

Just a sketch that I ended up spending a little time on this morning. Still getting the hang of digital inks.

Digital Ink doodle

digiinktest

Trying out some of the Liquid Ink brushes in Painter 11 and they’re pretty awesome. Drybrush was just about the only thing keeping me in traditional inking. I’m going to try out this with my newest commission and see how it goes.

Halftone in Photoshop.

I’ll give you three attempts to guess what I’ve been watching lately, and the first two don’t count.

Update:

Killing some time between inking panels.

City Concept

Monday, June 15th, 2009

First environment concept I’ve ever done, and on top of that it’s a cityscape, so… be gentle.

Annie Portrait

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

So after doing my self portrait and having a rather good time of it, I decided to do a bunch of friends and family for practice. Something to keep me busy and enganged in my down-time. Anyway, this is my youngest sister, Annie.

The hair gave me some trouble. I’ll have to find a good way to do that.
